Salaam alaikum (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon you),
My name is Hanif ‘Abu Hafs’, Fitness and Nutritional Advisor to Men all around the world.
I grew up going to the GP on a frequent basis due to Eczema and Asthma if it wasn’t something else growing up in South London. Doing all they could to raise their children well with love and food, no doubt, my parents kept me active and facilitated the things I needed to do so. But growing up in the 80’s and 90’s at a time where the large corporate businesses were finding their feet, marketing to children to the point that ‘Tuck Shop’ was the go-to place after school (I went to a couple), in fact, Tuck shop was in the school. I had a sweet tooth and clothes draws filled with sweets, but enough about that.
At that time it was easy to stay lean as the pavement was still a place for children to play and the time allotted to play and sports in school was beneficial. I played football and cricket (playing at the Oval and Lords on occasion), tennis with my family and riding around town on my bike with school friends as I got older.
The need for exercise was never talked about in the local youth club, we ate McDonalds and Chicken Cottage with no fear of what we were putting inside ourselves, we were growing young men seeking firm direction.
With all this, inflammation was a side issue. Mental health issues came upon me and I still battle with these issues till today. Alhamdulillah, Islam was found to me. Reading the Qur’an, Dua, regular exercise, eating better (bit by bit), sitting with the righteous and learning the Sunnah of our Prophet (peace be upon him) with action upon that has helped me in ways I could never enumerate.
My posts are to motivate and inform Fathers, Husbands and Son’s of what you need to know to reach your health goals. Reading the above should make it clear to you that I’m not just a Personal Trainer or Fitness and Nutritional Advisor; to the best of my ability, I want to bring health and fitness back to its roots, upon the understanding of our Salaf with the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) being at the head. Do you doubt the medicine of old?
I’ve studied Nutrition and Weight Management to Advanced level and also hold REPs registration as a Fitness Instructor. In the process of becoming a Level 4 Personal Trainer I also study Islamic Knowledge, sitting with Salafi Students of Knowledge in the UK.
You will find success stories here but not with pictures included, inshaAllah, as I hold the opinion that picture making is impermissible. However, I let my plans speak for themselves and with time I hope the word of the work we do here will reach far and wide through my continued posts, services and products that will benefit and increase goal attainment inshaAllah.
